Hi, I’m Halayna, the founder of AMEA.

I began creating my candles during my time as a new mom, when the special time at home with my daughter became one of the most meaningful parts of my day. Lighting a candle in the evening after a busy day quickly became a ritual of mine, creating the cozy atmosphere I needed to unwind. When I first began crafting, my goal was simple: I wanted something that smelled amazing but was also made with clean ingredients I felt good about having in my home.

Every AMEA product is handmade in small batches in Victoria, BC, using thoughtfully selected ingredients sourced in Canada whenever possible. From our candles to our perfume rollers and body care, everything we create is made with a focus on clean, high-quality ingredients and is free from phthalates, parabens, and other unnecessary toxins. Our products are also vegan and cruelty-free.

Our candles are hand-poured using a clean coconut-soy wax blend and custom fragrance blends sourced locally on Vancouver Island. Each candle is finished with a clean-burning cotton wick, free from lead and zinc. Every scent is carefully blended and tested to create a rich, beautiful fragrance without the harsh ingredients often found in traditional scented products.

I work hard to create beautiful products that bring warmth and comfort into everyday life. I believe it’s the small joys — like a delicious-smelling home, a favourite scent, or a quiet evening ritual — that can add a little more happiness to our days. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and my hope is that AMEA becomes a small moment of joy and self-care in yours.
